Firework explodes in glass bottle, injures onlooker | Federal Way crime blotter

• Fireworks explosion: At 8:07 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 1600 block of South 308th Street, a juvenile victim suffered minor injuries when a firework he or she placed in a glass bottle exploded, causing glass shrapnel to hit the victim’s arms, legs and torso.

• Theft from a vehicle: At 6:45 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 35800 block of 16th Avenue South, an unknown suspect broke into a truck and stole $3,500 that was hidden under the driver’s seat. The owner of the money was planning on getting a money order.

• Reckless burning warrant: At 5:36 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 31400 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect seen loitering was contacted by police. The person had active Federal Way warrants for reckless burning and criminal trespass. The suspect was arrested.

• Confrontational suspect: At 4:16 a.m. Aug. 1 in the 4900 block of Southwest 319 Lane, police were dispatched to a location where a group of individuals were yelling in a parking lot. One suspect rapidly approached police and failed to obey commands. The suspect removed his or her pants and shirt and yelled “shoot me” repeatedly. Eventually, the suspect followed police commands and was detained.

• Fraud: At 8:15 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 1300 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a witness reported that two suspects stripped a vehicle, sold the parts and then reported the vehicle stolen.

• Stolen dog: At 3:40 p.m. July 30 at 1014 S. 320th St., a victim reported that a dog kept at an office was stolen, possibly from a patient whom had admired the dog in the past.

• Alleged prostitution: At 6:40 p.m. Aug. 3 in the 30300 block of 14th Avenue South, a mother and daughter were in a verbal argument over allegations that the daughter was recently engaging in prostitution.

• Armed robbery: At 11:58 p.m. Aug. 4 at 1712 S. 356th St., a suspect pointed a gun at a gas station employee and demanded money from the registers.

• Threats: At 8:16 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 2800 block of Southwest 327th Street, a passenger in a passing vehicle displayed a rifle and pointed it at a victim.

• Passed out: At 3:47 a.m. Aug. 4 in the 2100 block of South 320th Street, it was reported that a suspect was passed out in a restaurant. The suspect had a warrant and was arrested.
