From staff reports:

FUSION (Friends United to Shelter the Indigent, Oppressed and Needy) of Federal Way is once again preparing for the annual art festival, which will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Dumas Bay Centre.

This year’s theme is “Moulin Rouge.” The Federal Way High School graphic arts class, under the leadership of teacher Jennifer Picardo, was challenged to present designs for the invitation and welcome poster for the event.

Jessica Landin’s invitation design, featuring her original painting depicting dancers, was chosen for the invitation. Colton Feider’s bubbling champagne was chosen for the welcome poster.

This is the fourth year that the FWHS graphic arts class has designed the invitation for the popular Federal Way event. The event is FUSION’s major fundraiser for the year. FUSION owns and operates 16 transitional housing units in Federal Way and Northeast Tacoma. The non-profit organization provides case management and required services for homeless families while they work toward self-sufficiency.

Tickets to the event may be purchased on FUSION’s website at www.fusionfederalway.org. Note: Moulin Rouge is a registered trademark of Moulin Rouge SA.
