Federal Way Public Schools will host a community meeting on Tuesday, April 26, to discuss its preschool program, available for kids who will be age 3 or 4 on August 31, as well as to give qualifying families information and enrollment opportunities to the Early Childhood Education Assistance Program, Head Start and more.

The free event will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Truman Head Start (31457 28th Ave. S., Federal Way).

In addition to general information for all potential enrollees, attendees can fill out an application for free preschool. Eligibility for free preschool is based on qualifying factors like income, whether TANF or SSI is being received, the presence of an IEP, and other factors, so those interested should bring proof of yearly income and proof of their child’s age.

Information on Head Start and ECEAP programs, which provide part-day preschool education and support to families, can also be provided at the meeting.

Federal Way Public Schools accepts preschool applications throughout the year and maintains a waitlist.
