Federal Way police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night.

Federal Way police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night.

According to Federal Way Police Department spokeswoman Cathy Schrock, police were dispatched to the sound of shots fired in the 29400 block of 18th Avenue South at 8:15 p.m.

A victim, however, was not located.

About 20 minutes later, a 32-year-old man walked into St. Francis Hospital’s Emergency Room with gunshot wounds. Schrock said he was taken there by an unidentified person. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries to his hip and facial area. Police identified the wounds as those from a shotgun.

Detectives arrived at the original scene and conducted a preliminary investigation. Witnesses reported seeing a sedan flee the area of the shooting.

Police are interested in speaking with the person who transported the victim to St. Francis.
