The Federal Way High School Pacific Islander Club took home four first-place awards at the second annual Samoan Arts High School Competition at Mt. Rainier High School on Saturday, May 14.

They won: Highest GPA, Best Mauluulu (Group Dance), Best Siva Tama or Faataupati (Boys Dance) and Best Siva Teine (Girls Dance).

Scholars from Decatur, Sequoyah, Illahee, and Todd Beamer all participated as did students from Seattle and Tacoma. The participating schools worked together throughout the year to form bonds and, at the end of the day, even though they are competing, organizers say, they are winning as a community by united as one and spreading the love.
