Federal Way officials discuss public safety, other issues at Brigadoon

Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrel, the Council and the city’s management team held the first of this year’s Neighborhood Connection meetings on Thursday at Brigadoon Elementary.

A crowd estimated at more than 110 residents visited the City Hall in the neighborhood to listen to presentations from Ferrell, interim Police Chief Andy Hwang and Public Works and Parks Director Cary Roe.

Residents then asked questions of the city officials, identified local concerns for follow-up action and gave valuable feedback about city programs and services.

Traffic and streets garnered the most mention, while public safety questions and traffic safety cameras were also addressed.

The Neighborhood Connection meetings will be held in different neighborhoods of the city.

The meeting dates are as follows, with a start time of 6 p.m. for each:

• Thursday, April 24, Adelaide Elementary

• Thursday, June 12, Sherwood Forest Elementary

• Thursday, Aug. 28, Wildwood Elementary

• Thursday, Sept. 25, Mirror Lake Elementary

• Thursday, Nov. 6, Panther Lake Elementary
