Thomas Jefferson High School junior Lyla Yesiltepe, golf, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 10.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: History.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Hanging out with friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom is so supportive and sacrificed a lot for me.

Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:

A: “Stay in the moment, don’t think too much.”

Q: Describe your pre-match ritual and your favorite post-match meal?

A: Pre – stretch well; post – a hamburger.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Meet Me At Our Spot” by The Anxiety, Willow and Tyler Cole.

From the sideline: Thomas Jefferson junior Lyla Yesiltepe scored 14 points in a match against Tahoma on Sept. 7. She placed second in the first event of the season with two pars.
