Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell and other dignitaries kicked off the Federal Way Farmers Market’s 12th season on Saturday.

Pep bands from Decatur and Thomas Jefferson high schools provided entertainment as shoppers browsed through fresh produce, gifts, flowers and other goodies offered by 70 vendors.

The market will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday’s through October in the Sears parking lot at The Commons mall, 1701 S. 320th St., Federal Way.
