A King County judge recently sentenced Joel Adrian Kelley-Scholz to one year of prison time and 36 months of community custody after he was found guilty of dealing child pornography on the Internet on March 12.

Kelly-Scholz, a Federal Way resident, had already served 232 days in the Department of Corrections at the time he was sentenced on April 17.

In addition to registering as a sex offender, Kelley-Scholz will undergo sexual deviancy evaluations, HIV and DNA testing. He is also barred from having contact with minors without the supervision of an adult who knows of his conviction.

Detectives from the Washington State Patrol Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force arrested Kelley-Scholz in January 2014 after they traced him back to large amounts of child pornography. During the arrest, detectives seized electronics from his house and saw illegal photos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
