Dec. 4

There were two vehicle thefts, and three vehicles were recovered on this day.

ATM stolen: At about 2:55 a.m. in the 32000 block of 1st Ave. S., there was a report of a burglary at a business in which the front door and structure of the building were damaged. Additionally, the reporting party said that an ATM and $30 from the register were stolen. The suspects were described as two males wearing blue windbreaker jackets and black sweatpants, but their faces could not be seen because they were wearing masks.

Fake iPhone scam: At about 10 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., a male called to report that he was sold a fake iPhone. He said he bought the phone from Facebook Marketplace from a young adult white male who was about 5’8”, 165 pounds. The victim purchased the phone for $300. The victim said the phone was elaborately packaged in a factory-style branded box, and the seller had forged a receipt with a matching serial number. When the victim attempted to activate the phone, Apple told him the phone was fake. When the victim attempted to locate the seller on Facebook, he had deleted his profile.

Christmas tree thieves: At about 6 p.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Hwy. S., the reporting party stated that two females in their early 20s entered Michaels and shoplifted two Christmas trees, each worth $160.

People in stolen vehicle flee: At about 3:20 p.m. in the 31000 block of 28th Ave. S., officers located a stolen vehicle occupied by two males who were sleeping. Officers set up a tire-deflating device before initiating a high-risk stop. Officers activated emergency equipment, and the driver then fled with the vehicle. Offices engaged in a pursuit for several blocks, but the suspect driver stopped the car, and both subjects fled on foot. Both suspects were caught and arrested.

Attempted bank robbery: At about 6:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of SW Campus Dr., officers responded to a recent bank robbery attempt.

Assault with a firearm: At about 8:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of S. 320th St., there was a reported threat with a gun at the listed address. Officers arrived, secured the scene, conducted interviews and established probable cause for an assault with a firearm in the second degree. The suspect was positively identified and arrested. Upon further investigation, the suspect’s interview matched the video provided to officers. The suspect was then released from custody.

Dec. 7

There were zero vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

20 pairs of jeans stolen: At about 12:45 p.m., a male dressed in dark clothing stole 20 pairs of jeans and fled in a gray van. There were trackers on the pants, but they left the city, and due to the circumstances of the theft, no officers were sent outside the city limits to the tracker’s location.

Dec. 8

There were five vehicle thefts, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Gator stolen: At about 6:15 p.m. in the 34000 block of 1st Ave. S., the reporting party stated that multiple subjects broke into the Trouve Apartments by prying open a gate with tools. The subjects then broke into the maintenance garage and stole a Gator golf cart worth $10,000.

Dec. 9

There were three vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Robbery: At about 7:10 a.m. in the 1200 block of 32nd Place, there was a report of a recent robbery with a handgun.

Dec. 10

There were zero vehicle thefts, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Fight at school: At about 9:40 a.m. at a Federal Way school, there was a report of several students being involved in a mutual fight during a passing period. Several students suffered minor injuries.

Car abandoned in the street: At about 10:10 p.m. on Pacific Hwy. S., officers located an abandoned vehicle partially blocking highway traffic and the sidewalk. The officer ran the vehicle’s plates and found it to be a rental out of Idaho. When the officer found the vehicle, the rear passenger door was ajar, and inside, he found a bin full of prescription medication, a laptop and headphones.
