Employee climbs into car to retrieve stolen merchandise | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Nov. 21-27.

Nov. 21

DUI driver: At about 12:17 a.m. near the 3200 block of South 320h Street, a driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI and later arrested.

Stolen tools: At about 8:40 a.m. near the 1200 block of South 322nd street, an unidentified man was seen climbing over a wall in the Federal Way Public Schools maintenance yard. He then went to a tool shed and removed several items, and threw them over the wall. The suspect also damaged and cut a hole in the fence of the maintenance area. The man was not located by police.

Dog stuck in pond: At about 9:30 a.m. near the 31800 block of 7th Ave SW, South King Fire and Rescue members rescued a dog that had fallen through the ice and was stuck in the pond.

Shots fired: At about 12:53 p.m. near the 32900 block of Military Road South, officers responded to reports of several gunshots in the area. On scene, officers located six rounds in the roadway but did not locate any victims or witnesses.

Students assault person: At about 5:05 p.m. near the 1100 block of South Dash Point Road, a person stated he was punched in the face by a juvenile suspect in the boy’s locker room at a middle school. There were a total of five students that attempted to assault the person. The person was able to flee from the students and located a teacher nearby to report the incident.

Kid jumps from apartment: At about 7:20 p.m. near the 29800 block of Pacific Highway South, a juvenile was brought to the emergency room with a broken ankle after the juvenile jumped out of a second story apartment window in an attempt to flee from the legal guardian.

Nov. 22

Person shot: At about 10:29 p.m. near the 2100 block of SW 320th Street, an unknown suspect pulled up next to a person and shot multiple times into the person’s vehicle. The person was struck at least once in the leg.

Nov. 23

Smoke shop burglary: At about 1:31 a.m. near the 32400 block of Pacific Highway South, a shareholder for a smoke and vape shop called to report an active burglary at the store seen via live security footage. Upon arrival, police detained four subjects who matched the descriptions and were found at the scene. After speaking with the shareholder and finding no damage to the store, the four subjects were released.

Stolen purse: At about 2:47 p.m. near the 2100 block of SW 336th Street, a woman was grocery shopping when she turned away from her cart for a quick second. During that time, an unknown man stole her purse out of the cart and walked out of the store. In total, the estimated cost of the stolen items is $2,400 including the woman’s iPad and iPhone. The man was wearing a ski mask and could not be identified.

Nov. 24

Armed robbery: At about midnight near the 1600 block of SW Dash Point Road, officers responded to an armed robbery. Three male suspects entered the store. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the employee and the other suspects took all the cash and checks from the location. The suspects then fled northbound on foot and were not located.

Nov. 25

Drive-thru fight: At about 12:04 a.m. near the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded to two men fighting in the drive-thru. One of the men reportedly had a gun. Prior to police arrival, one man fled on foot and the other fled in a Jeep. Police located the Jeep and detained the man. It was found that the gun was never displayed during the fight.

Employee climbs into car: At about 11:08 a.m. near the 30600 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to a possible strong-arm robbery. After further investigation, officers determined that the employee climbed into the back of the vehicle in an attempt to take back the stolen merchandise. The employee sustained minor injuries and the vehicle drove away.

Nov. 26

Rock thrower: At about 10:22 p.m. near the 31600 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect threw rocks at the manager, striking him in the head. The suspect also threw rocks at the window, breaking it. The suspect fled, but later returned and was arrested then booked into jail.

Nov. 27

DUI in drive-thru: At about 3:30 a.m. near the 2400 block of SW 336th Street, a driver was slumped over the wheel while in a drive-thru. The driver was arrested for DUI and booked into jail.
