Election results: Incumbents leading fire, water district races

Several commissioner candidates for South King Fire & Rescue and Lakehaven Water & Sewer District ran unopposed.

Change is on the horizon for Federal Way’s utility districts.

With three positions on the South King Fire & Rescue Board of Fire Commissioners up for election, two candidates — Caroline Vadino for Position 3 and incumbent David Berger for Position 5 — ran unopposed.

For Commissioner Position No. 2, incumbent Bill Fuller holds a lead with nearly 59% of the votes to challenger Julian Martinez’s 40% of the votes.

On the Lakehaven Water and Sewer District front, incumbent Peter Sanchez ran unopposed. He was first elected to the board of commissioners in 2016.

In Position 4, incumbent Laura Belvin is ahead with nearly 66% of the votes to challenger Sheley Anderson’s neaely 34% of the votes. Belvin was appointed to the board in Jan. 2020.

For Position 5, Jeremy DelMar received 53% of votes, while challenger Liz Olhsson has nearly 45% of votes.

Election results will be certified Tuesday, Nov. 23.
