Ear bitten off during assault | Federal Way crime blotter

At 4:34 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South, it was reported that a patient at a hospital had suffered a severed ear due to a bite incurred during an assault.

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Severed ear: At 4:34 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South, it was reported that a patient at a hospital had suffered a severed ear due to a bite incurred during an assault. The ear was found and stitched back on.

• Child abuse: At 10:52 a.m. Nov. 18 in the 31500 block of 1st Ave. S., the abuse of a child was reported.

• Drug transactions: At 7:22 p.m. Nov. 19 at an unlisted location, an anonymous caller reported he believed drugs or drug money was being transported through the mail to a Federal Way address.

• Animal remains: At 7:56 p.m. Nov. 19 in the 3100 block of South 337th Street, a victim reported an unknown suspect left what looked like a deer spine in his backyard. The victim felt the remains may be related to a prior theft.

• Out of control vehicle: At 9:25 a.m. Nov. 19 in the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South, a driver lost control and drove his or her vehicle off the road, over a curb and through landscaping, destroying a tree and traffic sign.

• Trespassing: At 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at 31855 Pacific Highway South, a suspect was arrested for trespassing and soliciting money from customers.

• Surrendered animal: At 4:02 p.m. Nov. 20 in the 500 block of Southwest 326th Street, a subject was contacted about the possible neglect of the person’s dog. The owner surrendered the animal.

• Fraudulent prescription: At 12:48 p.m. Nov. 20 at 1900 S. 314th St., a complainant reported a suspect attempted to fill a fraudulent prescription.

• DUI: At 2:58 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 26500 block of Pacific Highway South, police stopped a driver, who was subsequently arrested for DUI. The driver refused to submit a breath sample.

• Robbery: At 8:43 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 28700 block of Military Road S., a suspect implied a weapon and threatened bodily harm before robbing a victim of an iPod.
