The Federal Way Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration on April 30 will give the public the bi-annual opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
The public is invited to bring its unwanted pills for disposal to Federal Way City Hall (33328 8th Ave. S.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Weather permitting, the drop-off site will be located outside for drive-up access or will be located in the Federal Way Police Department lobby.
The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps; only pills or patches.
Last September, Americans turned in over 702,000 pounds of prescription drugs at more than 5,000 sites operated by the DEA and over 3,800 of its state and local law enforcement partners.
