Driver parks on sidewalk, falls asleep | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Sleeping driver: At 8:01 a.m. April 23 at 4800 S.W. 329th Way, police were dispatched to a vehicle parked on the sidewalk. The lights were on and the driver was sleeping inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for an active warrant.

• Stolen purse: At 8:23 p.m. April 25 at 144 S.W. 332nd Place, a purse and other personal information was stolen from a vehicle. The purse was found the next day in the Cafe Arizona parking lot and returned to its owner.

• Vehicle arson: At 12:07 a.m. April 25 in the 33900 block of 19th Avenue Southwest, police assisted the fire district with a vehicle fire. The incident is thought to be arson.

• False robbery report: At 3:13 p.m. April 25 at 33325 8th Ave. S., a person came to the police station to report a strong arm robbery. After a lengthy interview, police discovered the report was false and the person was actually a victim of an online money order scam.

• Recovered vehicle: At 1:26 p.m. April 26 at 106 SW Campus Drive, police recovered a stolen 1997 Mercedes Benz.

• Stolen vehicle: At 9:49 a.m. April 23 in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a complainant reported that while he was inside Cafe Arizona for about three hours, someone stole his vehicle.

• Vehicle burglary: At 9:45 p.m. April 23 at 3200 S.W. Dash Point Road, a briefcase, laptop, concert tickets and 2008 tax returns were stolen from a vehicle.

• Domestic assault: At 2:58 p.m. April 22 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, a father allegedly punched, choked and threatened to kill his son.
