Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log from May 9-16

May 9

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

School fight: At about 10:45 a.m. near the 4200 block of South 288th Street, a large fight broke out between students during lunch at a high school. It took several staff members to break up the disturbance.

Alcohol at school: At about 11:12 a.m. near the 2800 block of SW 320th Street, the administration at a high school noticed a suspicious interaction between three students. One of the students had four empty bottles of alcohol and one full bottle of alcohol in their possession. The student said she was given the alcohol by another student. The second student denied possession but reportedly smelled of alcohol. The second student fled from campus on foot.

May 10

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Abandoned dog: At about 5:51 p.m. near the 31700 block of Pacific Highway South, an abandoned dog was found outside of Petsmart.

Mad milk pour: At about 2:50 p.m. near the 31000 block of 14th Avenue South, officers received reports of a disgruntled employee who quit after they were asked to do something. The employee poured milk on a manager’s vehicle, but it was able to be washed off.

May 11

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Man shot with flare gun: At about 12:34 a.m. near the 1900 block of South 314th Street, officers responded to reports of an assault. A suspect shot a man in the back with a flare gun in the parking lot of a store, then fled on foot. The suspect was not located, but the incident was caught on surveillance footage.

May 12

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Bank robbery: At about 9:20 a.m. near the 33500 block of Pacific Highway South, an unknown man entered Homestreet Bank and provided a note to the teller, demanding money. The suspect received the money and fled on foot.

May 13

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Car break-in: At about 9 a.m. near the 500 block of SW Campus Drive, a couple ended their walk around Panther Lake Trail and found their car had been broken into. Several of the wife’s items were stolen and a fraudulent charge was made at a nearby store.

May 14

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Nightclub assault: At about 1:30 a.m. near the 2000 block of South 320th Street, officers responded to the hospital after a person was assaulted at a nightclub. The person had cuts to their lip and head and received stitches.

Person shot: At about 6:30 p.m. near the 1800 block of South 333rd Street, officers responded to a shooting and found a person with a gunshot wound to the lower leg. The suspect was identified.

May 15

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Pointing guns: At about 12:11 a.m. near the 28700 block of 26th Avenue South, officers responded to reports of 4-5 men armed with guns on the street and pointing the guns at vehicles.

May 16

There was at least 1 report of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Asleep at the wheel: At about 7:45 a.m. near the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, a driver was found asleep at the wheel at an intersection. When woken up, the man provided a fake name. After learning his real name, offices found the man did not have a valid driver’s license.
