Daughter assaults mom with ice cream, then sets a fire | Federal Way crime blotter

• Assault with ice cream, arson: At 10:56 p.m. Aug. 8 in the 31000 block of 49th Street Southwest, a woman and her daughter got into an argument.

• Assault with ice cream, arson: At 10:56 p.m. Aug. 8 in the 31000 block of 49th Street Southwest, a woman and her daughter got into an argument. The daughter then hit her mom with a bowl of ice cream and then attempted to set their apartment on fire, according to the police report. The girl was arrested for first-degree arson and booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Center.

• No party allowed: At 2:23 a.m. Aug. 12 in the 5000 block of Southwest Dash Point Road, a woman called police to report that she got into an argument with her niece, who also lives at the home. The niece had come home with about 20 drunk people and they got into the argument over the incident, according to the report. The niece then left the home in a vehicle with several other drunk subjects, according to the report. Police were unable to locate the niece.

• Theft: At 1:40 a.m. Aug. 12 in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, a victim was parked in a taxi at the Federal Way Transit Center where he was approached by a male suspect and another man, who reached into his cab and took his iPhone, according to a police report. The men then fled.

• Serial shoplifter: At 1:06 p.m. Aug. 12 in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, it was reported that a woman had been shoplifting from Ross for the last three days. She got away with it for two days, but was arrested on the third day after she attempted to take $145.92 worth of clothing, according to the report. The woman was booked into the Regional Justice Center.

• Threat: At 8:25 p.m. Aug. 11 in the 33000 block of 19th Avenue Southwest, a man had reserved a soccer field for his team’s practice when an unknown white male was also attempting to use the field, according to the police report. A verbal argument started and the man stated he was going to get a weapon from his vehicle, according to the police report. Police could not locate the suspect.

• Truck through window: At 2:14 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 34000 block of Hoyt Road Southwest, police got a call of a truck that went through a glass window at a business, according to a police report. A female suspect fled the scene on foot into the Northeast Tacoma area and was located by Tacoma police. When the woman’s purse was searched, it included a handgun, suspected black tar heroin, marijuana, prescription pills and meth, according to the report.

• Stolen wire: At 7:04 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 36000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, suspects broke into a secured construction site and stole $40,000 worth of copper wire and a work truck, according to the police report. Police have no suspects.

• A hurtful beer: At 11:44 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 2100 block of Southwest 336th Street, a suspect entered Safeway and stole a beer valued at $1.72. When a loss prevention officer chased him, the man fell and tripped in the parking lot and suffered a cut on his head, according to police. The fire department said the man would need a couple of stitches. The man was apologetic for the incident and also refused medical treatment.
