On Sept. 12, the King County Council confirmed the appointment of Federal Way City Councilman Mike Park to the Flood Control District Advisory Committee, which provides a regional approach to flood control.

Park will serve as the nominated representative from the south jurisdiction of the Suburban Cities Association. Since its creation, the board has leveraged over $40 million in state and federal funds, according to the county.
