Federal Way’s mayor received a pay bump earlier this year and will now earn $119,088 per year.

This figure contradicts an article published in the April 29, 2016, Federal Way Mirror. That article incorrectly reported the mayor’s salary as $115,620 per year, which was the position’s salary from 2014 until the city’s Independent Salary Commission approved a 3 percent raise at its meeting in February.

City council members also received a 3 percent salary increase and will now earn $14,214 per year. Neither the mayor nor the council members will see an increase in their benefits.
