City opens warming shelter at Federal Way Community Center

The Federal Way Community Center is available as a respite from the cold temperatures from Wednesday, Dec. 21 to Friday, Dec. 23.

The City of Federal Way is offering residents a place to find relief from cold weather this week.

The Federal Way Community Center, located at 876 S. 333rd Street, is available as a warming shelter from Wednesday, Dec. 21 to Friday, Dec. 23. Week-day hours of operation are 5 a.m. until 9 p.m.

During this week’s forecasted weather, the community center will be open to residents of all ages who need a warm and dry place to visit. Winter hours may vary due to weather and/or driving conditions. The community is not open for overnight shelter.

Special services are not be available for free (such as free use of the swimming pools, workout equipment or showers). Individuals may purchase a day-use pass if interested in using facility amenities. The Splash Café, located in the main lobby, will be open for drink and snack purchases.

No pets are allowed, except for service animals.
