Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log from Sept. 14-19.

Sept. 14

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Officer assault: Around midnight at the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a female adult in custody used both legs to intentionally kick and strike an officer in the face and jaw area.

Incorrect detainment: A Winco employee flagged down an officer around 7:30 a.m. to advise them of a man who was unconscious in a vehicle with the door open. After running the plate, the officer checked to see if the VIN matched, but it was covered. He waited for backup, but the male woke up. The officer grabbed and detained him, but it turned out the VIN was correct. The office apologized and released him.

Nonresidential burglary: At around 8:45 a.m. on the 27800 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to a burglary that occurred overnight. Tools were stolen from one of the business’s contractors.

Fight: Around 2 p.m. at the 31500 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way South, a group of mostly Federal Way High School students got into an altercation. One suffered a concussion, but said he will fight again as soon as he gets the chance.

Weapons offense: Around 10 a.m., an officer responded to a weapons offense related to a road rage incident at the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South. No other details were included at this time.

Assault with firearm: Around 7 p.m. at the 2600 block of South 340th Street, officers responded to a shooting. The victim was shot at while driving in his vehicle. No further details at this time.

Sept. 15

There were no reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Nonresidential burglary: At approximately 10 p.m. at the 34800 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to an overnight burglary. Suspects used a landscaping block to break the glass on the front door.

Sept. 16

There were at least 9 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Robbery: Officers responded to a report of an attempted carjacking around 1 a.m. at the 500 block of South 320th Street involving 2 subjects, one armed with a pistol, after causing a minor traffic accident.

Carjacking: Officers responded to reports of a carjacking that occurred around 1:40 a.m. A witness reported that he observed two masked subjects robbing a male suspect at gunpoint for his vehicle.

Response to nonresidential alarm: At approximately 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to an alarm at a business at the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South. The owner stated they believed that there was someone inside, but officers cleared the store, not locating anyone inside.

Homemade signs kicked down: An unidentified subject pulled over around 12:45 p.m. to kick some homemade signs painted on doors at a church.

Sept. 17

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Residential burglary: Sometime between 4 p.m. and 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 17, a local resident reported that her home had been broken into and numerous high value items were stolen.

Nonresidential burglary: An unknown suspect broke into a business at the 34400 block of 16th Avenue South around 6 a.m. and pulled out the safe using a chain and pull strap. The suspect then fled in a car (as captured by Safe City cameras).

Property theft from motor vehicle: Around 8:30 a.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Hwy S., a victim reported that around $16,200 worth of items were taken from their vehicle. Many of the items were borrowed for a road trip.

Vehicle and firearm theft: A vehicle stolen around 1 p.m. at the 2400 block of Star Lake Road had a black glock 19 pistol with two ten-round magazines and one 15-round magazine in the trunk that were taken with the vehicle.

Fight between neighbors: A physical altercation involving neighbors resulted in the victim being taken to the hospital and a suspect getting arrested for assault.

Motorbike theft: After arriving to look at a motorcycle for sale in a stolen truck, a suspect took the motorcycle for a test drive and never returned at around 7 p.m. at the 1100 block of Southwest 33rd Place.

Sept. 18

There were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Felony hit and run: Around 1 a.m. at the 3800 block of Southwest 340th Street, a victim was struck by a vehicle.

Filed as obstructing justice: When a lone officer arrived at the scene of a reported traffic collision, he observed two subjects grabbing items from within one of the vehicles. They both attempted to flee the scene, and one succeeded via vehicle. The other told officers that she swallowed fentanyl, and after being taken to a local hospital, she ran away.

Gas station robbery: Officers responded to a reported armed robbery at a gas station around 5 a.m. Investigation revealed two subjects that entered and demanded money from the clerk. One subject had a handgun. The two fled with property and money.

Sex offense: A mother reported that her minor child located a camera in his room. The mother confronted the [censored] who admitted to placing the camera. Several naked videos were found and the suspect has a history of prior similar offenses.

Assault with knife: Officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at around 1 p.m. at the 2500 block of South 298th Street. The suspect was gone on arrival and the victim was taken to the hospital.

Residential burglary: Around 2 p.m., unidentified suspects entered the victim’s open/unsecured garage and stole items. The suspects then fled in a vehicle.

Sept. 19

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Nonresidential burglary: Between 5 and 6 a.m., an unknown number of suspects burglarized a restaurant at the 32400 block of Pacific Highway South.

Firearm stolen: Sometime during the night of Sept. 18, a firearm was stolen out of the victim’s vehicle in at the 3200 block of 2nd Avenue Southwest.

Gas station robbery: At approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery with a firearm at a gas station located at the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South.

Residential burglary: Around 9:30 p.m. at the 32900 block of 49th Place Southwest, officers were dispatched and observed the front door was open. The residence was cleared and the glass door at the back of the house was broken. The victim stated that some expensive jewelry / accessories were stolen.
