Celebrate Earth Day by recycling on April 21

City of Federal Way hosts one-stop event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wild Waves

In the spirit of Earth Day Weekend, the city of Federal Way is hosting a free, one-stop recycling event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21, in the Wild Waves parking lot, 36892 Milton Rd S, Federal Way.

Residents can drop off a variety of bulky or difficult-to-recycle items, including appliances, scrap metal, large branches, tires, mattresses, electronics, Styrofoam and confidential documents.

Mixed plastics will not be accepted due to limited local recycling options. Residents should continue to recycle plastic bottles, jugs and tubs in their curbside recycling carts.

Visit cityoffederalway.com/recyclingevent for a complete list of items accepted at this event, restrictions and tips with the loading order. The event brochure also lists everyday recycling options for residents who cannot make the event.

Contact Jeanette Brizendine, recycling project manager, at 253-835-2771 or recycle@cityoffederalway.com with questions about the recycling event.
