BREAKING: 24-year-old shot to death Thursday in Federal Way

Officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired at 2:14 p.m

Federal Way police are investigating a Thursday afternoon shooting that left a 24-year-old man dead and two suspects at large.

Officers were dispatched to a duplex across the street from the Villa Capri Apartments (2511 S. 286th Place) for reports of shots fired at 2:14 p.m. Thursday. Arriving officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Fire and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures but could not save the man.

Police said Friday that the victim was at his residence and that detectives believe this was not a random shooting.

Witnesses Thursday reported seeing two black males leaving the area on foot. Both suspects are further described as being in their 20s and having thin builds; one suspect is reportedly 6 feet tall and was wearing a gray shirt and jeans, the other is reportedly 5 feet 10 inches tall (no clothing description available).

Additional witnesses also reported seeing a white Chevy Malibu leaving the scene immediately following the shooting. No license plate information was reported.

“The investigation is very preliminary at this time,” a police spokeswoman said.
