Boy arrested after abusing 3 family dogs | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log from April 26 to May 2.

April 26

There were at least nine reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Towed car: At about 5:10 p.m. near the 29000 block of Pacific Highway South a man threw a brick at a business’s window and shattered it after his car was towed from the location’s parking lot.

Assaulter arrested: At about 10:14 p.m. near the 1900 block of South 314th Street, officers responded to an assault. Several officers located the suspect nearby and he was detained.

April 27

There were at least three reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Car break-in: At about 7:20 a.m. near the 33700 block of 21st Avenue SW, a woman flagged down officers in the Fred Meyer parking lot and said her car had been broken into. Officers found the car’s passenger window was smashed, though nothing was stolen from inside the car.

Facebook scam: At about 11:10 a.m. near the 2100 block of South 296th Street, a man reported that he was the victim of a Facebook scam. Someone on Facebook was advertising a new federal grant program with large payouts. The man wired money to the person on Facebook and did not get the money he was promised in return.

April 28

There were at least four reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Suspect breaks into sleeping couple’s home: At about midnight near the 500 block of SW 361st Street, a couple awoke in the middle of the night to discover that their back entry door was broken and their house had been rifled through while they slept.

April 29

There were at least five reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Weapon threats: At about 3 p.m. near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect was arrested after officers developed probable cause for threats with a weapon.

Gun brandished: At about 6:13 p.m. near the 35100 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a person told officers he had an argument with an unknown suspect in the parking lot, which resulted in the suspect brandishing a gun.

April 30

There were at least eight reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Arson: At about 3:40 a.m. near the 30900 block of 1st Avenue South, firefighters responded to and extinguished a vehicle engulfed in flames. The fire investigator deemed the fire was set intentionally.

May 1

There were at least four reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

May 2

There were at least four reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day.

Man masturbates on bus: At about 3:20 a.m. near the 31600 block of 23rd Avenue South, a Pierce County bus driver waved down police to report that a man needed to exit the bus as he was reportedly masturbating on board. The bus driver drove away after the man left the bus. The man was identified and released with charges pending if surveillance footage is provided.

Substation window smashed: At about 5:20 p.m. near the 30800 block of Pacific Highway South, an unknown suspect broke a window at the Federal Way Police north substation. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage. The damage is estimated to cost $1,000.

Animal cruelty: At about 2:50 p.m. near the 34800 block of 8th Place SW, a boy was arrested after he reportedly abused three family dogs. The boy set fires in the backyard and in the bathtub of his home, along with choking, throwing the dogs down the stairs and beating the dogs with a belt. The boy was remanded at King County Juvenile Detention for animal cruelty and reckless burning.
