Staff of MSC’s State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program will share their expertise gleaned from 40 years of monitoring the care of people living in assisted living facilities, nursing homes and adult family homes across the state.

The State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, operated by Multi-Service Center, is independent of any facility or government entity, and works to ensure the best quality of life and care for residents of long-term care facilities.

Trained and certified ombudsmen provide information to residents about their rights, work to resolve complaints, monitor the enforcement of the laws by DSHS, and advocate for improvements in the long-term care system. They spend time in more than 2,000 facilities across Washington each year, monitoring the care of people living in them.
