Dec. 2

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Person asleep with car on: At 2:30 a.m. on Hoyt Road Southwest, there was a report that an officer found a driver asleep in his vehicle with the key in the ignition and the vehicle running with the blinker on in a parking lot with direct access to the roadway.

Dec. 3

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

$500,000 lost in a scam: At 1:21 p.m. in the 3000 block of Southwest 309th Street, a woman reported that her parents had been victims of an online scam in which they handed over $500,000 in person to unknown suspects. She reported that her parents still believe that the scam is real. She is currently attempting to get them to file a police report.

Cut off at the entrance: At 5:02 p.m. in the 1900 block of Southwest Campus Drive, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a physical assault in progress. The reporting party stated that he and an unknown male got into a verbal argument after the unknown male said the reporting party cut him off while the unknown male was trying to enter a business. The unknown male then pushed a laundry cart toward the reporting party. The cart struck the left side of the reporting party’s face, causing minor pain and redness. The suspect was not located. The case is inactive.

Dec. 4

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Person hit by a car: At 9:34 a.m. on Military Road South and Camelot Drive, there was a report that officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. Officers arrived on scene and found both parties on location. The pedestrian was evaluated by fire and rescue workers and transported to a local hospital for possible internal injuries. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative. No sign of intoxication. Collision report completed. The case is information only after an interview with the victim at the hospital.

Dine and dash: At 5:26 p.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a man reportedly ate at a restaurant and left without paying. The reporting party described the suspect as a 20- to 30-year-old Black male with a black shirt and pants. The reporting party could only provide a photograph of the male from CCTV footage. The male left on foot and was not located. The case is inactive pending further leads.

Dec. 5

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Windshield and a dumbbell: At 3:26 a.m. in the 28000 block of 14th Avenue South, there was a report that the reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend had taken a dumbbell to his vehicle’s windshield after they ended their relationship. The reporting party advised that the girlfriend had then left the location. Officers arrived on scene and established probable cause for third-degree malicious mischief. The reporting party provided a statement and said he wanted to press charges. Officers attempted to locate and arrest the suspect, but were unsuccessful.

Guns presented after argument: At 1 a.m. in the 2200 block of Southwest 356th Street, there was a report that officers were dispatched to the Hitching Post Saloon for an in-progress threat with a weapon. Upon the officer’s arrival, it was determined that two males were having an argument inside the saloon when they exited, and firearms were presented. Both males were gone upon arrival, and bar patrons did not want to assist with the officer’s investigation. No spent bullet shell casings were found at the scene. No probable cause determined.

Car found on fire: At 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of South 316th Street, there was a report that an abandoned vehicle was found engulfed in flames. No persons injured. Possibly related to ongoing domestic violence issues.

Elementary schooler suicidal: At 9:25 a.m. at a Federal Way elementary school, there was a report that officers responded to a suicidal child at an elementary school. Officers provided the mother with information on where to take the child.

Dec. 6

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Man strangles bar employee: At 2:03 a.m. in the 29000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to a dispute between two males. Officers arrived on scene and saw an active group of around 10 people arguing and pushing each other outside of a bar. Officers spoke to the people involved. Officers gathered a male subject attempting to leave the bar with an open container of alcohol. The bar employees attempted to take the alcohol container from the male. The male then grabbed an employee by the neck and tried to strangle him. Officers gained probable cause for second-degree assault. The male was arrested and booked into King County jail.

Man found dead: At 8:37 a.m. in the 2600 block of South 311th Street, there was a report that officers responded to a man slumped over in a vehicle. The man was determined to be dead.

Dec. 7

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Firearm stolen: At 10:45 a.m. on 17th Lane South, there was a report that a woman had left a firearm in her car and when she returned to her vehicle, her passenger side door was cracked, and her firearm was missing. There is no camera footage available.

Dec. 8

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Merchandise stolen: At 12:23 a.m. in the 1700 block of South 352nd Street, there was a report from a Home Depot employee who stated that a suspect had concealed $329.96 worth of merchandise, but the merchandise was recovered at the last point of sale. The employee was planning to pursue charges.
