2 soldiers from Joint Base Lewis–McChord robbed at gunpoint | Federal Way Police Blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log Jan. 17-24.

Jan. 17

Shots outside pub: At about 8:45 p.m. near the 28800 block of Military Road South, an unidentified suspect fired a shotgun in front of the Brickyard Pub. There were no reported injuries or damage.

Pho restaurant break-in: At about 10:30 p.m. near the 31800 block of Gateway Boulevard South, officers responded to a pho restaurant after the glass break alarm was triggered. Officers learned the building and did not find anyone inside. They found a broken front glass door. Video surveillance shows the suspect did not take anything as there was no cash in the registers he opened.

On Jan. 17, there were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.

Jan. 18

Thieves shoot at vehicle: At about 2:05 a.m. near the 100 block of South 330th Street, officers responded to reports of a vehicle theft in progress. Officers arrived and met with a woman and her husband. The husband said he was following four suspects who attempted to steal his vehicle when he heard gunshots. There was damage to the husband’s vehicle windshield.

Work van burglarized: At about 2 a.m. near the 32900 block of 33rd Avenue SW, an unknown suspect stole approximately $10,000 worth of hand and electric tools from the person’s work van that was parked in front of his house overnight.

On Jan. 18, there were at least 4 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.

Jan. 19

Carjacked at gunpoint: At about 8:24 p.m. near the 34000 block of 9th Avenue South, a person stated that a suspect approached her vehicle, pointed a gun at her and ordered her to get out of the vehicle. The person left the scene and was unharmed.

On Jan. 19, there were at least 1 report of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.

Jan. 20

Robbery suspects caught: At about 1:20 a.m. near the 31900 block of 14th Way SW, officers responded to a collision. Probable cause for a robbery was then developed. A K9 track located three subjects associated with the robbery. The juvenile suspects were brought to the station; two were released to their parents and the other was booked.

Shooting: At about 6:40 a.m. near the 30600 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to reports of a shooting. They found one victim who was taken to Harborview Medical Center. There were no shell casings or bullet holes found.

Liquor thief pepper sprays: At about 5:30 p.m. near the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, three unknown suspects entered the Total Wine and attempted to steal a bottle of liquor. Employees were able to get the bottle back. After getting to their vehicle, one of the suspects returned to the store and pepper-sprayed an employee.

On Jan. 20, there were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.

Jan. 21

Soldiers robbed at gunpoint: At about 3:54 p.m. near the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive, two soldiers from Joint Base Lewis McChord came to Federal Way to sell shoes on OfferUp. When they met the potential buyers at an apartment complex, they were robbed at gunpoint by three suspects in a stolen vehicle.

On Jan. 21, there were at least 7 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.

Jan. 22

Three cars vandalized: At about 3:35 a.m. near the 1800 block of SW 326th Street, a person reported that three of his vehicles were vandalized. The juvenile suspects left in a suspected stolen vehicle.

Suspect shoots during robbery: At about 8:10 p.m. near the 33300 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a robbery. A gunshot was fired during the robbery and no one was injured. The suspects stole cash, jewelry and other items before fleeing in a stolen vehicle. The suspects were not located.

On Jan. 22, there were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.

Jan. 23

Drunk student found unresponsive: At about 9:50 a.m. near the 35900 block of 16th Avenue South, a School Resource Officer responded to Todd Beamer High School for reports of an unresponsive student in a bathroom. Upon arrival, medics on scene stated the student was drunk and had an elevated heart rate. The student was transported to St. Francis Hospital.

Jan. 24

Students shot with gel balls: At about 2 p.m. near the 4200 block of South 288th Street, two high school students were walking home from school when they were shot in the head/face with orange gel balls. The students saw a boy holding a gel gun out the rear passenger side window of a sedan.

Multiple vehicles broken into: At about 7 p.m. near the 2400 block of South 320th Street, an unknown suspect broke into multiple vehicles. The suspect stole a backpack, two laptops, textbooks, headphones and an iPad. There is no suspect information.

Armed robbery: At about 11:15 p.m. near the 2000 block of SW 336th Street, police responded to an armed robbery. Three male suspects entered a store displaying pistols. The suspects demanded money from the register and also stole the clerk’s purse before fleeing.

On Jan. 24, there were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft.
