The shooting occurred around 11:15 p.m. on June 16; A man claiming to be the shooter turned himself in hours after the shooting, police say.

Two people were killed and one person was critically injured after a shooting outside of the Twin Lakes Safeway on Friday night in Federal Way.

Around 11:25 p.m. June 16, Federal Way officers responded to the grocery store at 2109 SW 336th St., according to Cmdr. Kurt Schwan of Federal Way Police.

Officers found three shooting victims, all of whom are men in their 20s, according to Schwan. Two of the men were found in a parked vehicle and died at the scene. A third was found nearby in the parking lot and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries, Schwan said.

Police believe another vehicle pulled up to the victim’s car in the parking lot and an argument ensued, then a person from the suspect’s vehicle shot into the victim’s vehicle, Schwan said. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section and crime scene technicians are processing the scene as of Saturday morning, looking for witnesses and retrieving surveillance video from the area.

A 20-year-old man reportedly turned himself in at the Federal Way Police Department several hours after the shooting, claiming to be the shooter, Schwan said. The 20-year-old is in custody and is being interviewed by detectives.
