July 16

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Threats at 7-Eleven: At 8:37 a.m. in the 35000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that the owner of a 7-Eleven called to report a trespass. The person who was trespassing also made threats to hurt the owner. The owner reported that a second person also made threats to hit him, and fled in a vehicle.

Shoplifting: At 1:52 p.m. in the 1200 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that a loss prevention officer was involved in a physical altercation when attempting to retrieve merchandise from a shoplifter. The suspect was cited and released.

Dog bites dog: At 9:08 p.m. in the 28000 block of 14th Avenue South, there was a report that a dog was able to get free from his leash inside his yard and bite another dog that was being walked in the neighborhood.

July 17

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Garbage fire: At 9:23 p.m. in the 35000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a report of subjects lighting garbage on fire near the roadway. Officers contacted two subjects matching the reporting party’s description. Investigation revealed no probable cause of a crime, but one of the subjects had a warrant and was arrested.

July 18

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Man exposing himself to cameras: At 11:48 a.m. in the 2800 block of Southwest 344th Street, there was a report that a male who was trespassing overnight was exposing himself to surveillance cameras.

15 people fighting: At 9:37 p.m. in the 2200 block of South 333rd Street, there was a report that 15 subjects were outside fighting. The reporting party advised that a female in her 30s was waving a firearm in the air, yelling for her phone back. When officers arrived, there was no one on the scene except for the caller.

July 19

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Sexual assault at PetSmart: At 8:02 p.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that the manager of PetSmart advised that a customer had informed her that another customer had inappropriately groped her and assaulted her. The suspect was located outside of the store and arrested for fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation.

July 20

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Man breaks into church: At 2:47 a.m. in the 600 block of South 356th Street, there was a report that a male was arrested after he was observed on video pulling the locked gym doors open and making entry into the church. He did not take anything from inside the building as he was seen with empty hands as he exited. The male was ultimately arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and was booked into Kent jail.

Firearm theft: At 10:16 a.m. in the 2600 block of South 312th Street, there was a report of a firearm theft.

Sexual assault: At 11:28 a.m. on Seventh Avenue Southwest, a victim stated that two unknown males broke into his residence through an unsecured window that had a fan in it. Suspects sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where a sexual assault kit was completed. Vague suspect info at this time.

July 21

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Residential burglary: At 6:29 a.m. on Southwest 312th Lane, there was a report that officers responded to a residential burglary. When officers entered the unit, the residence was trashed and various items had been stolen, including the doorbell camera. No suspect information. Case is inactive. Leads exhausted.

Stolen gun: At 10:49 a.m. in the 33000 block of Eighth Avenue South, there was a report that a victim reported that he had been at a large party near Saghalie Middle School with both friends and strangers when his Glock handgun was stolen. The victim delayed the report because all the firearms present at the party were stored together due to alcoholic beverages being served, and assumed it was mistakenly taken. Given the time delay, the victim concluded it was taken by a stranger with no intent to return it. The victim had no info as to who the other partygoers were due to the crowd size and could not recall the specific date or location of the party. The handgun was entered as stolen.

July 22

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Burglary: At 3:01 a.m. on South 284th Street, there was a report that unknown suspects unlawfully entered a victim’s vehicle. The suspects covered the security camera, utilized the garage opener from the vehicle to enter the garage, then stole a motorcycle and thousands of dollars worth of items from inside the garage. Potential suspects were spotted on South 284th Street and Military Road, but unknown suspects fled at a high rate of speed, running multiple red lights. No leads at this time.
