Man, 20, fatally shot near Federal Way Crossings

Federal Way Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the victim’s vehicle, which was seen driving away from the scene after the shooting.

A 20-year-old Mountlake Terrace man was fatally shot in a parking lot of the Federal Way Crossings on Wednesday night.

At about 9:47 p.m. Dec. 8, officers responded to the 1400 block of S. 348th Street for a report that someone had been shot, said Cmdr. Cary Murphy of FWPD.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers and medics attempted life-saving efforts, but the man died at the scene, Murphy said. The 20-year-old man’s identity has not yet been released.

Police say the man appeared to have been targeted and the shooting does not seem to be random.

Early investigation suggested that the man and an unknown suspect were involved in a dispute which escalated to gunfire, Murphy said. The man’s vehicle is seen leaving the scene immediately after the shooting.

The Federal Way Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle, a 2019 silver Toyota Camry, license plate (WA) BWE8015, has not been located. If the vehicle is located, police urge community members not to contact the occupants and to immediately call 911 to report the location.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the homicide.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact the Federal Way Police Department at 253-835-2121.

This is the 11th homicide in Federal Way this year.
