Washington State Patrol seeking witnesses of the July 14 shooting.

Detectives are looking for any witnesses of a shooting along State Route 18 in Federal Way on Thursday morning.

At about 10:27 a.m. near SR 18 between Interstate 5 and Weyerhaeuser Way, law enforcement officials responded to reports of a shooting. On scene, troopers found a bullet hole in both the driver and passenger side windows of a blue Honda Civic, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The bullet entered the driver’s side window, narrowly missing the female driver, and exited through the passenger side window, according to WSP. The driver’s head and neck were injured from the shattered glass, and was transferred to the hospital.

The female driver said she was nearing the exit of SR 18 when an older, white-colored car was driving erratically next to her. The driver of the white car reportedly gave her the middle finger before driving in front of her and slowing down, according to WSP.

As both cars got onto the highway, the white car pulled up next to the Honda Civic and a male passenger fire at a gun at her before fleeing.

The driver of the white car was described as a slender Black female in her 20s with straight shoulder length hair and the male who fired the gun was described as a slender Black male with short hair and a white T-shirt, according to WSP.

Any witnesses to this shooting or anyone with information that can assist in identifying the suspect vehicle and driver are encouraged to contact Detective Early at Todd.Moate@wsp.wa.gov.
