Where are the fat, ugly and disabled dancers? | Federal Way letters

Just watched the American Music Awards. Well, I’ll admit to channel surfing a bit during the show, but I did watch the commercials in their entirety. And, I learned the following valuable life lesson from watching this, the most American of award shows:

There are no talented ugly people in America. There are no talented overweight people in America. There are no talented disabled people in America. I also learned that ugly people, overweight people and disabled people refuse to dance or to provide backup to the stars’ performances.

Consequently, I’m glad that we have Hollywood to teach us how to live our lives, with diversity and without prejudice, via their performances and interviews. These same sensitive folks are also kind enough to help us vote righteously at election time. Without direction from Hollywood, we non-performers would fall into a maze of hypocrisy as we wander aimlessly through our mundane lives.
