Tacoma City Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’ coming to Federal Way

Enjoy sugar plum teas before every matinee performance.

The Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center and Tacoma City Ballet are partnering up for the production of “The Nutcracker and the Tale of the Hard Nut.” Tacoma City Ballet, one of the PAEC’s resident artist organizations, has purchased 13 brand new set designs that are custom designed to fit the local theater ,and the PAEC has also purchased additional lighting for the theater.

“The Nutcracker & The Tale of the Hard Nut,” a timeless holiday classic, first presented in 1892 in St. Petersburg, has entertained generations for well over a century. The story of The Nutcracker, now told in its entirety with the addition of The Tale of the Hard Nut, is presented alongside the traditional Russian The Nutcracker that features the historical scenery and costumes first seen by audiences in 1892.

Tacoma City Ballet creates a glorious production filled with spectacular dancing, live orchestral music, grand scenery and lavish costumes that will enchant your entire family this holiday season.

Sugar plum teas will be offered one hour before every matinee performance where audience members can meet the dancers of Tacoma City Ballet and enjoy a tea time refreshment.

Tacoma City Ballet will appear at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center at 2 p.m. on Dec. 15, 16, 22 and 23; and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20 and 21.

Tickets start at $25. For ticket reservations, visit www.fwpaec.org, or call the Box Office at 253-835-7010. The PAEC is located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S., Federal Way.
