Relay for Life: Let’s battle cancer in Federal Way

By Agnes Vronsky-Wooters, Federal Way Relay for Life

The Federal Way Relay for Life is now in its 10th year. Ten years of a community coming together to fight cancer. Ten years of a community coming together to support one another. Ten years of laughter. Ten years of tears. Ten years of hope.

Relay For Life is many things; it is support, it is celebration, it is courage, it is education, it is remembrance, it is fun, it is community, it is friendship, it is hope. But it is none of this with out you. Relay is about people. You.

Did you know that one in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime? The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people across the country each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.

Hundreds of those people will be right here in Federal Way raising money, raising awareness and working toward eradicating this dreaded disease.

We invite you, your neighbors, co-workers, church, family and friends to join us in this overnight event.

We also need your help as a community to help honor our cancer survivors as well as remember those lost to this disease. This can be done in several ways: Relay For Life Starts off honoring all cancer survivors. The survivors walk the first lap with a reception in their honor immediately following that lap.

Please mark your calendars for July 25-26. Event will take place at Saghalie Park from 3 p.m. July 25 (Saturday) until 9 a.m. July 26.
