Pacific Ballroom Dance held its third annual Harvest Ball benefit Nov. 8 at the Temple Theater in Tacoma. Members of Pacific Ballroom Dance comprise youth ages 10-19 who come from Federal Way, Auburn, Des Moines, Tacoma, Seattle, Kent, Puyallup and surrounding areas. Federal Way Mayor Jack Dovey and Pacific Ballroom Dance instructor Lynn Boudreaux competed in the local celebrity dance competition. Federal Way City Council member Jeanne Burbidge was also a contestant who partnered with Matt Longhurst.

Pacific Ballroom Dance instructor and finance director Brent Mecham partnered with 2008 Olympic weightlifter Melanie Roach during the celebrity dance competition. Roach and Mecham won the competition. Roach’s husband, State Rep. Dan Roach, also competed with Katie Mecham as his partner.
