St. Luke’s Theatre Company presents its last performances of “Cinderella” on Nov. 18 and 19.

Free Family Movie Day: Gather the kids up and head over to the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center to watch Jack Frost for free on Nov. 25. Event hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Movie begins at 11 a.m. The PAEC is located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South, Federal Way.

Home Movie Day at the Library: From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25. Digitize your home movies and chat with film and video archivists from Moving Image Preservation of Puget Sound. Get expert advice on how to protect these valuable memories. The library is located at 34200 1st Way South, Federal Way.

Jingle Bell Brunch:

From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 2, wear your flannels and eat some flapjacks at the Jingle Bell Brunch at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S. 333rd St., Federal Way. The event costs $15.

Tree lighting ceremony: Free event at 4 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Town Square Park. Enjoy music, cocoa and cookies, see Santa and watch the mayor light the tree.

Paws with a Cause Painting Party: Paint a portrait of a local pet from a shelter to help them get adopted from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 3. The library is located at 34200 1st Way South, Federal Way.

Last City Council Meeting of 2023: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the council chambers (upstairs and to the left) at City Hall (33325 8th Ave. S.).

Poverty Bay Cafe Holiday Market: Join FUSION on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an enchanting afternoon filled with holiday spirit and shop a variety of handmade items from our talented local vendors. Poverty Bay Cafe is located at 1108 South 322nd Place in Federal Way.

Sleeping Beauty:

A Holiday Panto written by Vince Brady and produced by Centerstage Theatre. Performances open on Nov. 26 and close Dec. 17, with no performance on Dec. 1. Located at 3200 Southwest Dash Point Road.

Heritage Center Annual Holiday Open House “Come (re) Experience Christmas of the 1960’s”: Join the Historical Society December 16 from 1-3 p.m. at the Steel Lake Annex Park.

Hot off the presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 1-2:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation and coffee. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need.
