Poverty Bay Cafe Holiday Market: Join FUSION on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an enchanting afternoon filled with holiday spirit and shop a variety of handmade items from local vendors. Poverty Bay Cafe is located at 1108 South 322nd Place in Federal Way.

Carols by Candlelight: A free family Christmas sing along at the Federal Way Church of the Nazarene, 1525 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way, at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15. They sing both secular and sacred favorites.

Heritage Center Annual Holiday Open House: “Come (re) Experience Christmas of the 1960’s” and join the Historical Society from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Steel Lake Annex Park.

Winter Bonsai Solstice: From 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 16, Pacific Bonsai Museum illuminates its world-renowned collection with soft holiday lights for its annual Winter Bonsai Solstice. Come take an evening stroll to take in beautiful bonsai and then stay to enjoy treats, shop for gifts, sip hot chocolate, and feel the support of community. This is a family-friendly tradition that warmly embraces the generous spirit of the holidays. Suggested donation: $0-$12 for adults. No reservations or advance tickets are needed.

2nd Annual Youth/Young Adult Summit and Winter Wonderland: From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 16 at Decatur High School, join the African Young Dreamers Empowerment Program Intl. (AYDEPI). The event will feature youth talks led by youth, launch of AYDEPI’s new song, games, raffles and awards, free African food and non-alcoholic beverages and much more. Hot off the presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 1-2:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation and coffee. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need.
