The event will feature performances and speeches from prominent community leaders and Mayor Jim Ferrell. The event will also feature a food drive facilitated by Multi-Service Center.

Hot off the presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 1-2:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation and coffee. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Ukulele jam: Join the group at Cafe Noir in Federal Way as they learn and play together from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. every Sunday. No matter your skill level, anyone who wants to can pick a song to lead, or just follow along. All levels of players are welcome. Even if you are new to ukulele, or have been playing for years, the sessions are just about learning and having fun together. Glowforge Laser Printer Basics: Learn how to use the Glowforge Laser Printer from 4 to 5 p.m. Jan. 17. In this class, get the basics of using the Glowforge app to cut, score and engrave your designs. Kids’ DIY-U Workshop – My First DIY Toolbox: This Kids Toolbox Workshop will have your little helper eager to tag along on your next home improvement project on Jan. 20.
