Local author M’ Roberts serves the forgotten ones | Nandell Palmer

You may have spotted him serving homeless men and women or doing some other community outreach projects, mentoring sixth- to eighth-grade boys under the Federal Way School District’s Heritage Leadership Program.

Or perhaps you may have seen him serving as emcee or as a motivational speaker for a variety of events throughout Federal Way and beyond. His friends have long known him as Michael, but as quiet as it is kept, M’ Roberts is fast becoming a force with which to be reckoned throughout the Puget Sound area.

Author of three motivational and inspirational books, Roberts has quite a heart for the less fortunate among us. For example, 25 percent of the proceeds from his books go directly to his charity, The Forgotten Ones Foundation, which he and his wife founded one year ago.

“I care about people and I believe that one person can make a difference,” said the big-hearted man. “There are four distinct components to the Forgotten Ones. My wife and I started this foundation because there was nothing else in existence that does all of these much needed things.

“We will provide jobs (Inspired Hands Construction), housing (Affordable Living Communities), build orphanages (Havens of Hope), and provide free basic health care for children (Benevolent Health Centers for Children).”

Here’s a brief overview of Roberts’ three books:

• “Endangered Species” was written specifically for males, age 12 and older. It addresses concerns, behaviors and opportunities for young men who may not have had a father, mentor and/or positive role model in their lives. It is currently available through Authorhouse.com and a variety of online retailers. The book will be in retail bookstores in about three weeks.

• The same is true for “When Rage Doesn’t Help – A Mother’s Pain,” which is a recommended read for anyone who may be struggling with the loss of a loved one or the inability to forgive others for past transgressions.

• Roberts’ first book, “Holier than Thou,” discusses the difference between religion and establishing a personal relationship with God. It is also available through a variety of online retailers such as Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. Look for more upcoming titles from this talented author as he has four other books in the pipelines.

Apart from his being an author and president of his nonprofit organization, Roberts has had more than 20 years of marketing experience under his belt with leading corporations throughout the United States.

Those sterling years of good service have opened the door for this unstoppable man to start his own company, Creative Marketing Group, where he is also the president (www.creativemarketinggroup.net). This unique corporate entity has created quite a niche market for struggling businesses in this tough economic climate.

You can always find an area to suit your needs, as the company specializes in relationship marketing, productivity management, team/morale building and marketing consultation.

A happily married husband to Tanisha, Roberts is also the proud father of three sons and one daughter. He is an elder at Christ the King Bible Fellowship, and he lives in NE Tacoma.
