Federal Way Symphony’s Swing Band featuring Dr. Quinton Morris

One performance: January 29th 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Church.

Federal Way Symphony violinist, educator and filmmaker Dr. Quinton Morris will be the featured soloist with Federal Way Symphony’s Swing Band at 2 p.m., Jan. 29, at St. Luke’s Church. Dr. Morris is a native of Renton, and currently the Director of Chamber and Instrumental Music at Seattle University. Dr. Morris has performed with the Seattle Symphony, in Carnegie Hall and has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

The swing band feature classic swing band pieces from the 40’s and 50’s by Lionel Hampton, Johnny Mercer, Benny Goodman and Louis Prima. Dr. Morris will be playing some contemporary jazz pieces featuring the violin, backed by a 17-piece band.
