Holiday Festival of Trees: Village Green Federal Way senior living invites you to stop by through Dec. 10 to enjoy and purchase pre-decorated holiday trees. These raise funds for gifts for seniors. Located at 35419 1st Ave. S. Contact 253-243-9568.

Basket of Love Thanksgiving Giveaway: This annual event returns on Nov. 23. Thanksgiving supplies can be picked up between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. at 1612 SW Dash Point Road in Federal Way. Pacific Flavors Harvest Market: On Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. join the Pacific Islander Community Association for a vibrant and delicious celebration of culture, community and cuisine at 33710 9th Avenue South in Federal Way. Register at bit.ly/nhpimarket

Be A Blessing Give Back Event: On Nov. 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy live performances, drinks and food in an event presented by Progress Pushers located at 30815 8th Ave S in Federal Way. Free resources will be available including free winter apparel, haircuts, lockboxes and hygiene supplies.

Green Living Workshops from FW Public Works: Free upcoming workshops are coming up from the Federal Way Public Works department starting on with a container gardening workshop in English and Spanish on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at El Centro de la Raza in Federal Way. Then look for a Safe Cleaning Workshop on Monday, Nov. 25, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Dumas Bay Centre.

Holiday Festival at the Performing Arts and Event Center: From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 30, watch a screening of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and enjoy a visit with Santa and seasonal crafts at the Federal Way PAEC located at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South in Federal Way.

Holiday Panto: The raucous, fabulous, and family-friendly Holiday Panto returns with one of Centerstage Theatre’s most popular titles, “Beauty and the Beast.” The show runs Nov. 30 through Dec. 22. Show times are 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, as well as 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The Knutzen Family Theater is located at 3200 SW Dash Point Rd., Federal Way. Green Living Workshops from FW Public Works: More free workshops from the Federal Way Public Works department continue on Monday, December 2 with the Winter Garden Prep online class. Then look for a Waste Reduction pickling class on Thursday, December 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Federal Way Community Center.

Lions Club joins Salvation Army bell ringers: The Federal Way Lions Club is volunteering to ring bells for donations on Dec. 6 at the Twin Lakes Fred Meyer at 33702 21st Ave SW in Federal Way and invites you to join them.

Tree lighting: Federal Way’s free annual holiday tree lighting celebration runs 4-5 p.m. Dec. 7 at Town Square Park, 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. All ages are welcome to enjoy this holiday event. Highlights include Santa’s arrival, holiday music, free cocoa and cookies, and the tree lighting ceremony by the mayor. Don’t miss out on this enchanting event.

Federal Way Symphony: “Holiday Favorites” begins at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. The show will be a mixture of holiday fare, festive songs and carols, classical and popular chestnuts. A young soloist from Key to Change will join the orchestra for their first performance with a professional orchestra. Followed by the Federal Way city tree lighting in Town Square Park.

Jingle Bell Brunch: Event runs 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S 333rd St. Admission is $17 per person and includes activities such as breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, crafts, holiday music and entertainment, photos with Santa, cutest family pajama contest, hot cocoa station and more. Cookies With Mrs. Claus: Event runs 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Federal Way Community Center, 876 S 333rd St. Admission is $5. This event is perfect for children ages 2-10 and includes cookie decorating, photo opportunities, warm cocoa and festive music.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical: Show runs at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. The national tour features the “most famous reindeer of all” and his friends from the longest running and highest rated holiday television special. Audiences are invited to help Santa save Christmas with the help of Rudolph and the holly jolly cast of characters including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster and more. Hot off the Presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Poverty Bay Café is located at 1108 S. 322nd Place in Federal Way, north of Celebration Park.

Federal Way Chorale Christmas concert: The FW Chorale presents “Yuletide: A Celebration of the Season in Song 2024” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and 4 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. The performance will feature a new work by the rising and already acclaimed composer Taylor Scott Davis, Magnificat. 2024 FWYSO Christmas Concert: The Federal Way Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform holiday favorites at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. Tickets at fwpaec.org.

ABBA Holly Jolly Christmas: Show begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center. Put on your Santa hat and bell-bottoms to celebrate the holidays with music inspired by the legendary pop group ABBA. Tickets at fwpaec.org.

The Nutcracker: Show is 4 p.m. Dec. 22 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center. The show features the Grand Kyiv Ballet, including the most prestigious ballet dancers from Ukraine. In this classic tale, a young girl befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve. Together, they embark on a fantastical journey to a magical kingdom filled with dancing sugar plum fairies, toy soldiers, and other whimsical characters. Tickets at fwpaec.org.
