A free community Easter egg hunt is at 10 a.m. March 30 at the ballpark behind The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 34815 Weyerhaeuser Way, Federal Way, rain or shine.

First Date – The Musical by Centerstage: Tickets are on sale now for Centerstage Theatre’s latest production. The show will run March 29 through April 21 at 3200 Southwest Dash Point Road in Federal Way. Visit centerstagetheatre.com.

Community Easter Egg Hunt: Free event at 10 a.m. March 30 at the ballpark behind The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 34815 Weyerhaeuser Way, Federal Way, rain or shine. Bring a basket to collect your Easter eggs in. The event will include an Easter message, Easter egg coloring, light refreshments, and Easter displays. Please register free tickets for your family if you plan to come as it will help them prepare for quantities.

Repair Cafe: The South King Tool Library is hosting a Spring Repair Cafe on March 30. Bring small household items for repair such as lamps, vacuums, clothing and furniture. The event runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the tool library, 1700 S. 340th St., Federal Way. Expert fixers will do their best to fix items, but no guarantees. Aspiring fixers and tinkerers are invited to learn about repairs. Another Repair Cafe is scheduled for June 29. Visit www.southkingtools.org.

City Council Meeting: 6:30 p.m. April 2 in the council chambers (upstairs and to the left) at City Hall (33325 8th Ave. S.).

Federal Way Public Market forum: The board of the proposed Federal Way Public Market invites you to join them from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at the Dumas Bay Centre to gather feedback and ideas from the community about the project. The Dumas Bay Centre is located at 3200 Southwest Dash Point Road in Federal Way.

Model Matzah Bakery: Grind the wheat, make the dough and roll out your own matzah with the Chabad of Burien and Federal Way on Sunday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. RSVP at JewishBFW.com/BakeMatzah to attend the event located at the North Hill Community Club at 20827 3rd Avenue South in Des Moines.

Be ready for emergencies: Join the Community Emergency Response Team’s Basic Course on Wednesday Evenings April 10 through May 29. Registration is free and upon graduation, each student volunteer receives their own backpack with CERT gear and a certificate of completion. Hot off the presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 1-2:30 p.m. April 16 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation and coffee. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Parks Appreciation Day: From 9 a.m. to noon April 20, choose a location to volunteer at a park in Federal Way! This event is dedicated to enhancing and maintaining the beauty of local parks. Rain or shine. Park Site 1: Brooklake Blueberry Farm, located at 726 S. 356th Street. Park Site 2: Saghalie Park, located at 33914 19th Ave SW. What to Bring: Participants are advised to bring gloves, wear sturdy shoes, and dress in clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty. While tools will be available, organizers are requesting participants to bring extra shovels, gloves, clippers and wheelbarrows.

School board meeting: Join Federal Way Public Schools for their Board Meeting at 6 p.m. on April 23, 2024 at Woodmont K – 8, located at 26454 16th Avenue South in Des Moines.

I’m Hooked Fishing Event: From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 4, head to Steel Lake Park to spend the day outdoors (rain or shine), engage in angler education, fishing and health and wellness activities in partnership with the Federal Way Parks Department and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. This is a rain or shine event. Dress in layers and dress for the weather. Community mentors will help guide your child and family in the art of fishing, nature, health, and wellness and instill a love and passion to enjoy for years to come.​
