Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration: Celebrate and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. This year’s theme is “The Next Generation of the Dream” and will include speakers, performances and opportunities to connect. The main event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. then an opportunity to network with nonprofits will run from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Pressure Washer Workshop: Learn how to use pressure washers efficiently to clean outdoor surfaces without harsh chemicals. This class will also cover safety tips and maintenance practices from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 22 at the South King Tool Library, 1700 S. 340th St., Federal Way.

Family Game Night – Mystery at the Mansion: The Federal Way Community Center has some opportunities for family fun coming up from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 24 with a family game night featuring the game of Clue at the community center, 876 S. 333rd St. in Federal Way.

Federal Way Symphony Presents “Big Band Concert I”: At 7 p.m. Jan. 25, enjoy a performance by the FW Symphony at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South in Federal Way. Visit fwpaec.org for tickets.

TRCO Academy of Music and Arts workshop series: The Triumphed Recording Company is hosting a free after school program for youth interested in the music industry. The 4 week clinic will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesday Jan. 27 through Feb. 23rd at the Federal Way Community Center located at 876 South 333rd Street.

Blood Drive: The City of Federal Way is partnering with Bloodworks Northwest to host a blood drive at City Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 30. City Hall is located at 33325 8th Ave S in Federal Way. Walk-ins may be available but spots are limited.

Let’s Create! An Interactive Content Creation Workshop: For people who are interested in content creation, this free event is from 12: 30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at Keller Williams Realty Puget Sound, 33434 8th Avenue South, Federal Way. The workshop will focus on preparing for and filming video, editing, posting strategies, scripting and more.

Hot off the Presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites the public to join the newspaper staff from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. People can ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Poverty Bay Café is located at 1108 S. 322nd Place in Federal Way, north of Celebration Park.

State of the City Address: Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell’s annual State of the City Address will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Performing Arts and Event Center, 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way South. The event is free and open to the public.
