Dear retirees: Classes cater to lifelong learners

Are you retired — but not ready to retire from learning?

Green River Community College is now offering “Prime Time” for mature learners.

The programs range from line dancing, retirement planning, Obama and World War I.

Some programs have already begun but those that have not are still accepting.

Annual membership in Prime Time runs $75 for an individual and $125 for couples. Memberships include a 40 percent discount on classes, membership socials and access to the GRCC library.

The Prime Time programs runs year round and a spring class schedule is in the works.

Classes

“Line Dancing for Fun and Fitness:” 2 to 3 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9 and 23 at Wesley Homes on Lea Hill. Member fees are $35, non-members are $60.

“Retirement Planning Today:” 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 5 and 12 at the Auburn Center. Member fees are $49, non-members are $75.

“Now That He’s President…What to Expect from President Obama:” 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 11, 18 and 25 at the Auburn Center. Member fees are $39, non-member fees are $65.

“World War I: The War that Changed the World:” 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 4, 11 and 18 at the Auburn Center. Member fees are $39 and non-members are $65.
