There’s something evil in America, but we love guns | Letters

There is something evil, in our souls perhaps, and we can’t get rid of it.

There is something evil, in our souls perhaps, and we can’t get rid of it.

It engulfs us again and again and again — the D.C. Naval Yard, Santa Monica (you didn’t know about that, huh, just because only five were shot dead?), Sandy Hook, Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, Oakland (seven dead, but you’ve already forgotten that one), Seal Beach California (eight dead, missed that, too, didn’t you?), Aurora, and on and on and on.

And I missed a bunch in that time sequence because the numbers of shootings are so overwhelming.

But we love guns, we worship guns, we want our little kids to have guns so they can target practice on their siblings because we are America and the Second Amendment says so.

It is more important in America that little kids have easy access to guns than it is for me to feel safe from a rain of bullets because my right not be gunned down no longer counts in the country of the Second Amendment above all other amendments of freedom and justice, and the gun is God Almighty.

Bow down, everyone, worship our wonderful, evil god!
