Taxpayers should only provide jail uniforms to some homeless people

Regarding Mirror’s exposé on the woman experiencing homelessness.

Wait a minute. Wait just a d***ed minute. Whoa! Stop! Regarding your exposé on the woman experiencing homelessness in the Feb. 1 issue. Let’s back up and look at what you reported and what she said.

She gets free food stamps that taxpayers pay for. She gets her meals and showers that taxpayers pay for at the Federal Way Day Center. You report she has nine kids. Who is paying to raise them? Again taxpayers.

People could simply walk into the Department of Social and Health Services’ free clinic and get tons of free condoms. We need mandatory sterilization so people cannot get any form of free stuff at taxpayers’ expense.

The woman says she can get to the Day Center to eat, shower and fill out job applications. But she can’t get back to accept a job the next day. Am I the only one seeing a problem here? Next she says her cigarette consumption went from a pack a week to four packs a week. She can’t buy cigarettes with an EBT card. Where is she getting that money? Why can’t she use it for bus fair to get to the Day Center to accept a job?

Next she said she is “boosting” — her word, not mine. Your readers need to know what “boosting” is. It is stealing. They go into a store, pick up what they want and go out the back door. Leaving honest people to pay for what they take, in the form of higher prices and wages for security officers.

I don’t have a problem helping anybody. I took a young man off the streets about nine years ago. He was getting his life together for seven years. He’s out on his own now. An upstanding, honest, productive young man. People who act otherwise shouldn’t get anything from taxpayers but a jail uniform.
