Federal Way is fortunate to have a symphony of this caliber and this outstanding concert hall.

We chose to spend a beautiful, sunny fall day indoors at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Events Center to attend the season premiere of the Federal Way Symphony on Oct. 14. What a perfect choice! Maestro Anthony Davenport led us through the program with his usual sprightly comments filled with historical notes and humor. Guests Deborah McClellan, harpist, and Dainius Vaicekonis, pianist, and the Symphony Orchestra delighted us with an afternoon of beautiful performances. We had never heard a harpist featured in a concert performance and were delighted with Ms. McClellan’s grace and virtuosity.

Mr. Vaicekonis presented Brahms’ Piano Concerto no.1 with breathtaking strength and mastery.

The sad part is that the concert hall was only about one-third full. Federal Way is so very fortunate to have a symphony of this caliber and this outstanding concert hall in which they may be featured. It would be a disgrace if we were to loose this symphony due to neglect. Please, people of Federal Way, enjoy and support your gift of venue and performance.
