Save money by eating less | Letters

We learn from the news media that one out of six people in the United States is food challenged. They get food stamps or need others’ help to get food.

It is a well-known fact that about 30 percent of the people here are obese.

Recently at a grocery store, a large lady asked me if I could spare 50 cents so she could buy some chips. She forgot her food stamps at home. I gave her 50 cents. Is it possible someone can be food challenged and also be obese at the same time? Somewhere recently, I read one way to save money is to eat less food.
