Ripped off by Sound Transit | Federal Way letters

I would like to commend our newly elected Mayor Skip Priest for taking on Sound Transit and for challenging them for taking $12 million of Federal Way taxpayer money and using it for other projects promised to Federal Way by 2023 for a link to the light rail.

I would like to commend our newly elected Mayor Skip Priest for taking on Sound Transit and for challenging them for taking $12 million of Federal Way taxpayer money and using it for other projects promised to Federal Way by 2023 for a link to the light rail.

Sound Transit will continue to take our tax dollars for other projects like the corridor for transit lanes, across the 520 bridge to Bellevue and also a project for Shoreline. Why is Sound Transit bent on stopping the line at Highline Community College, 2 miles north of Federal Way city limits? How will these projects support the City of Federal Way and its citizens? We pay and they take all the credit for a job well done.

Mayor Priest said it like it is: “the rich get richer and the working class get the shaft.” No truer words were spoken.

Thank you, mayor. We stand by your side and hope we can stop this rip-off by Sound Transit. Either that, or make them pay us back all the money they are taking out of our taxes. It just goes to show the working class people pay the freight, but promises are made to be broken, if you live in a working class community. Thanks, Sound Transit. I will make sure I don’t support you and/or your projects.

Pat Gee, Federal Way
