Plastic bags and grocers | Federal Way letter to the editor

First of all, I’m happy to see you add the Go Green section to The Mirror.

I have a very simple suggestion today: If our grocery stores would place signs at their entrances reminding customers to bring their reusable bags, I’m sure the use of plastic and paper bags would be reduced. People are much more likely to return to their cars to retrieve forgotten reusable bags before shopping than getting to the checkout counter and remembering them then.

Along the same line, if checkers and baggers were less eager to put every item in its own plastic bag, we could put a sizable dent in our plastic consumption.
